THE SENATOR (Davisson-J 2017)

Standing tall and stately and like most Senators going on and on and on for what seems forever, THE SENATOR has the longest bloom season of any plant in my garden starting early-midseason and then reblooming well into the late season. It's a perfectly formed 10" raspberry purple spatulate monster with a lighter raspberry watermark and heavy substance that is both rain proof and sun fast. Always opens wide and flat. Scapes are 38" with 5 widely spaced branches, 32 buds, with instant rebloom scapes slightly taller at 41" with 4-way branching for an additional 18 buds making it a bloom machine!! Hardy, dormant plant habit from an unregistered seedling (LOUD GIRLS X WHITE EYES PINK DRAGON) X unknown. The sibling to IRISH MIXUP. Pollen fertile and likely pod fertile in cooler climates as I see fluid on the stigma almost every time it blooms. Beautiful foliage and vigorous plants. Tetraploid.
